Ah yes, the lovely game of get to know you... The lovely Bride of Rochester tagged me into this game:
Players list 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, players then tags 8 people by posting their names and makes sure they know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at the tagee’s blog.
1. I would love to live in a Caribbean country one day, and I don't want to wait until I'm retired. My fiancé and I have talked about this dream for the last few years, perhaps when our mortgage needs to get renewed in just over 4 years we will sell our homes and take off...
2. I would love to own my own business one day. Whether it be a fun little pet boutique, an online business or a hotdog stand - I would love to have a business and make it successful.
3. I used to have a bellybutton ring in high school and my Dad still doesn't know ;)
4. My fiancé and I were planning on eloping in Maui this November (but still having the big wedding next June) - we decided to spend the money on excursions instead :O
5. I ordered my wedding dress without seeing it in person or trying it on…it arrives in November!
6. I plan on having a planned elective c-section if I am fortunate to be blessed with children. AND I would opt to have a 4D ultrasound each time I am offered a regular one.
7. I still think of my elementary school "arch enemy" every time I feel the urge to laugh at an inappropriate time, or need to stop laughing…it still works!
8. I fear that I may one day be plagued with female pattern baldness - even though I have the thickest hair EVER!
So that's it for me, but what about you? You're It ladies!:

Bridesmaid Dress Shopping Session #1
Yesterday marked the first official "Bridesmaid Dress Shopping" afternoon of fun. Well, more like two and a half hours of fun… We stopped in at Shades of White Bridal Store, as well as a place called Blush. Both had tons of bridesmaid dresses in stock - but both carried very little of what I was looking for. Before we went I made a little list of my "wants" and my "don't wants" for bridesmaid dresses. I'm not a particularly lists oriented person, but I am the type of person to write my thoughts on paper to figure out what they heck I want. I had originally had chosen a lovely long, strapless, a-line taffeta dress for my four bridesmaids…however, it dawned on me that it may not work with the more bustier of the 'maids - especially when I am not a fan of 4-inch cleavage…no matter how nice your jugs are ;)
Anyway, here is a picture of the "original" dress:
It did come with spaghetti straps that you could attach, but I am not a fan of spaghetti straps…I guess I AM kind of picky… This pickiness lead me to make the list:
-no strapless
-no spaghetti straps
-no halter (much to the disdain of my sister - sorry Karen!)
-no 2-piece dress
What I would like to find in a dress is:
-long
-taffeta (a cooler material - especially if long and wearing on a hot humid summer day in Ontario)
-a-line
-available in a shade of blue?
There is actually "THE" dress that I want on the David's Bridal website, but how the heck do I order the dresses unless I make a couple of trips down to the States - does Seattle even have a David's Bridal? I'll have to check that one out. Here is the David's Bridal dress that I love (anyone know the price on this baby?):

Finally, here are some pictures of Meagan trying on some possible contenders (of course not the colours we would purchase them in;) :

This is EXACTLY the look I am going for - but this one has a really weird back and it made with a type of satin, so it will be a little weird - find it with a simple back in taffeta and that is it!
One thing that really bugs me is that the sample sizes that were available were about 6/8/10 - from my experience dresses usually look pretty good on people of those sizes. They should also offer larger dress sizes - I'm thinking in the range of size 14-20. Otherwise we are just guessing on how they'd look… Grrr…that is VERY annoying!

November 12, 2007 is the day :)
I received my confirmation back from netbride.com - the outside delivery date (meaning the latest day it will arrive) is November 12, 2007. Laura, my contact at netbride.com, has been great so far. I wanted to confirm some seemingly silly details, such as is the "l" in my style number a "1" (one) or an "L" ? She even thanked me for double checking :)
I've heard from other brides that they dresses have arrived one month to two months early - I really hope mine does!

I Ordered My Dress!
Last night I ordered my dress from www.netbride.com! I'm pretty dang excited! I won't post the actual dress until I get it in my hot little hands. The dress is from Moonlight designs…the Tango line. It is white taffeta with some little crystals and beads on one side. I love it! It is the same design that Mrs. Peach from weddingbee wore. Only 11 to 16 more weeks until it arrives! Eek - I hope it fits!
